Reasons to renew your underwear
There are many reasons why we should remember when we last replaced our underwear and remember when it's time to do it again. What are some of these reasons?- Bacterial buildup. A study by the University of Arizona's biology department found that up to a tenth of a gram of feces can be found in freshly washed underwear . These bacteria can harm our long-term health if we don't replace these garments.
- Color fade. Washing, drying in the sun, and rubbing against other clothes can cause the color to fade, making them unpresentable. Even if we don't show them off to anyone, feeling good about what we're wearing underneath our clothes can positively influence our mood.
- Worn fabrics. The same thing happens with textiles. With constant use and washing, fabrics suffer, lose elasticity, and no longer offer the support they should, which can cause chafing, fever, and other problems that could cause damage to intimate areas.
- Rips in seams. Another problem that affects well-worn underwear and is why you should consider replacing it is that the seams come undone, which can cause skin damage, even cuts and wounds. These rips also reduce the effectiveness of support.
- Changing tastes and trends. Underwear changes with each change of season, which subconsciously causes changes in our tastes and desires. This is another reason why we might consider updating our underwear, to wear what's most fashionable.

How to know when to renew it
Now that we know the importance of updating our underwear and the reasons for doing so, you need to know when is the right time to make a change. One of the most common recommendations is to do it once a year. Perhaps this idea is based on Marie Kondo's philosophy, which states that we should throw away everything we haven't worn in a year. Well, we can apply this to underwear we've worn a lot during the year. It's time to replace them! What if we can't remember the last time we renewed it, so we know it's been a year? In this case, there are several factors that can determine that the time has come :- It no longer holds us as it used to.
- It doesn't suit us anymore; the seams are visible over our clothes when they weren't before. For example, when wearing underwear with a suit.
- You don't like the design anymore.
- Your body has changed and you need a different size.
- If you stretch it, it no longer returns to its original shape. This can happen even if underwear is stored in unused drawers. The passage of time causes fabrics to wear out.
